Introduction: How to change the rear wheel of a Xiaomi scooter
The new Xiaomi M365 Pro 2, Essential, Lite, etc. electric scooters have new plastic covers and an original mudguard support. In this video, we show you how to disassemble the rear wheel on these new models. Afterward, the repair process remains exactly the same.

- 3 metal tire levers
- Valve extension
- 2 pliers
- 2 zip ties
- Liquid soap
- Allen keys
Steps to Change the Rear Tire of your Xiaomi M365
Changing a tire on the Xiaomi M365 and Xiaomi M365 Pro is done in exactly the same way. There are no differences in terms of the wheels. Whether it’s the Classic or Pro model, you can follow this tutorial to repair your flat tire.
Insert the tip of a cutter between the red sticker and the groove of the plastic cover. Lift it gently and remove it.
Remove the two small screws holding the plastic cover using a 2.5 Allen key.
Unscrew the first screw holding the rear wheel using an Allen key. Be careful not to lose the two washers.
Remove the red sticker from the other side of your scooter using a cutter blade.
Remove the two screws from the plastic cover and unscrew the last screw holding the axle of your rear wheel.
Remove your flat rear wheel by pulling it backward.
Remove your brake disc by unscrewing the 5 small screws. Changing your rear tire will then be much easier.
Remove the valve cap from your flat inner tube and push it inside the rim.
Apply liquid soap to the edges of your rear tire to help it slide. Press the edges to insert the soap.
Place a large tire lever on the right and left of the valve hole.
Remove the first part of your rear tire by leveraging it with the two tire levers. Completely remove it by going around at regular intervals.
Pass the valve of the inner tube outside the rear wheel and remove the flat inner tube.
Apply some soap around the tire to make it slippery and easier to remove by hand.
To determine if your rear tire is reusable, check the inside of it. If you see filaments on the inner edges, it means it’s worn out and better to replace it.
Inflate your new inner tube to see which side the valve is oriented.
Insert the valve into the rear wheel hole. Deflate the inner tube. Screw on the cap.
Check the rotation direction of your tire. The arrows should point in the direction of wheel rotation, as indicated on the side of the tire.
Place the inner tube inside the tire.
Apply soap to the tire edges and the rim. Insert the first part of the tire using a tire lever.
Press the tire near the valve with a clamp. Tighten the tire on the left and right sides of the valve with two pliers.
Apply soap to the edges to help your rear tire slide onto the rim.
Push the tire inside the rim. Apply tension to the tire (left and right) with two tire levers and finish the installation with a third one.
Remove the clamps and press on the edges of your rear tire to ensure everything is in place.
Inflate your tire to check if the inner tube wasn’t punctured during the installation and verify that the tire line aligns properly with the rim edge.
Reinstall your brake disc on the wheel, ensuring it’s in the correct orientation. There are arrows on the disc indicating the direction of rotation.
Put the wheel back on the rear fork.
Tighten the wheel with the left and right screws.
Reinstall the two plastic covers, don’t forget the two red stickers.
Congratulations! You have successfully changed the rear tire of your Xiaomi M365.
