Removing the rear wheel

Let’s begin by removing the side covers on the left and right of the scooter by unscrewing the two small screws using a 3mm Allen key.

Next, we disconnect the motor’s connector by pulling on the two ends.

You can do this with your hands, but personally, I prefer to hold the right part with my finger and use pliers to pull on the connector. I find it easier that way.

Once the motor is disconnected, we can unscrew the rear wheel of our Wispeed using a 17mm wrench.

Then, slide the flat tire out by sliding it downward.

Now, we push inside the valve of the punctured inner tube to ensure there’s no air inside and to be able to unscrew the rim smoothly.

Once that’s done, we unscrew the 6 screws of the rim using a 4mm Allen key.

Before installing the new inner tube, make sure to thoroughly check the inside of your tire to ensure there are no debris stuck inside.

Closing the rim on the motor

Next, we place the tire around the motor, inserting the valve into its housing.

Ensure that the motor is centered in the middle of the tire.

Here’s a crucial point: press on the sides of the tire and make sure that no part of the inner tube is protruding and touching the gray area. If it’s protruding and touching that area, it means the inner tube will get pinched when closing the rim.

If everything looks good, we can reattach the half-rim to the motor and tighten it securely.

Now, we can put the rear wheel of our Wispeed SUV1000 back onto the rear fork and tighten the two nuts on the left and right.

Next, we reconnect the motor’s connector by aligning the two arrows.

If there’s not much play in the right connector, to make it easier to insert the male connector into the female connector, you can hold the connector with pliers and push the other one inside.

Now, we can inflate the tire to a pressure between 2.4 and 3.1 bars using an valve extension.
